A close-up of a cormorant bird with white feather tufts on its head, standing in light rain, evokes the spirit of bear adventure, with the text "What you seek is seeking you" written across the image.

Blair Denman-Lead Wildlife Photographer

Blair Denman-Lead Wildlife Photographer

Blair Denman is a Vancouver Island–based wildlife photographer who has spent the past several years working closely with Wild Waterways Adventures, photographing marine and coastal wildlife throughout the Discovery Islands and surrounding waters. Much of his work is shot on high speed zodiacs in dynamic conditions, giving him extensive experience shooting fast-moving wildlife in changing light, tides, and sea states. There is a significant learning curve to this unique style of Bald eagle & oceanic tidal rapid photography—one that Blair Denman has spent years mastering in the field.

Blair is passionate about both photography and teaching, and he enjoys helping guests build confidence with their cameras while capturing authentic wildlife moments in the field. His hands-on approach and deep familiarity with the local environment make him a natural guide for photographers looking to improve their skills on the water.

What you will Learn

You’ll learn how to work with changing light on the water, choose the right camera settings for fast-moving wildlife, and position yourself for the most compelling angles and natural behaviours. The experience also covers composition, ethical wildlife photography practices, and an understanding of seasonal wildlife patterns, along with editing tips to help you bring out the best in your images after the adventure.

Don’t want tips and guidance, but want to hang with other photographers, no problem! You come as you are.

You will be shooting from a 32″ Zodiac Hurricane- a very safe, stable vessel offering high visibility and unobstructed views for every shot.
