Bald Eagles & Tidal Rapids
Bald Eagles Tour Campbell River
Campbell River Bald Eagle Zodiac Tour | Discovery Islands Tidal Rapids
In the powerful oceanic tidal rapids of the Discovery Islands a natural phenomenon unfolds each spring. Massive tidal exchanges force migrating Pacific hake up through the water column, creating a sudden abundance of food that draws hundreds of bald eagles from across the coast. The result is a dramatic feeding spectacle set against the churning currents and whirlpools that make Campbell River one of the world’s most unique tidal rapid ecosystems.
