The Summer Solstice Experience
Conscious Adventure Travel | Discovery Islands
This Summer Solstice join Wild Waterways Adventures’ Métis guide, Maitreya, and Sarah of Sound Seed Yoga on a ceremonial ocean journey rooted in reverence and gratitude. Immerse yourself in the sacred waters of your eternal heart as we gather to honour the return of the Humpback Whales to the North Salish Sea through guided meditation, sacred medicines, and channelled song.
This intimate small-group Summer Solstice Retreat takes place on June 21st, 2026 and is curated to create space for reflection and co-creation with Humpback Whales while out on the ocean. Guided by the rhythms of the sea and the presence of whales, guests will be invited into a restorative experience that blends mindful wildlife viewing, meditation, sacred song, and intentional connection with nature.
The Experience Includes:
- 4 hour Adventure on an open Zodiac Hurricane
- Ocean-based ceremony in the Salish Sea
- Guided meditation on the ocean
- Channelled song and sound healing
- Ethical Whale and wildlife viewing
- Working with sacred medicine
- Herbal tea and snacks
- Time for reflection and stillness
- A short rest stop in the Discovery Islands

Sarah Sopracolle (Sépal)
Vibrational Gardener/Intuitive Sound Healer at Sound Seed Yoga
Sépal tends to the earth, prepares the grounds and plants seeds on both the ethereal and physical planes. She allows her voice to be guided to what is needed for the greatest good of ALL beings.
Along with voice, she plays singing bowls and a variety of other sound medicine instruments.
She is passionate about connection with nature, working with the elements and communicating with the other beautiful life forms on this planet (and beyond!) Offering sacred soundscapes back to Water and Whales is deeply fulfilling to her and tremendously powerful for all present.

Maitreya Smalley
Sharing a vision of unity, reverence, and sustainability with the natural world is Maitreya’s mantra as a guide. Maitreya is Métis and includes local Indigenous history on her tours. She is owner and guide of WWA. Maitreya has guided at world renowned Luxury Ecolodges on the West Coast of BC in Haida Gwaii, Great Bear Rainforest, North Broughton Archipelago and the Discovery Islands for the last 20 years.
Maitreya is a professional Wilderness Guide and Naturalist with a Diploma of Technology in Fish, Wildlife and Recreation from BCIT. She is a certified Naturalist, SVOP Boat Driver.
In addition, Maitreya is a yogini and studies meditation and awakening through heart based illumination as a student of Advaita Tantra Yoga Master, Igor Kufayev, the founder of Flowing Wakefulness Fellowship.
Maitreya is a student of the lineage of the Magdalenes, and studies heart based illumination and awakening in the Mary Magdalene School
Rates & Additional Information
Let’s Create Your Retreat
- Adult: $177 + $3 conservation fee, booking fee and taxes. *Call to Book and omit the booking fee!
- 15% Fuel Surcharge
- Gratuities are customary in Canada, but not included in rates and are at your discretion if you choose to tip your guide.
- Warm layers.
- A reusable water bottle (water provided).
- Rain Gear is a good idea on rainy forecasts, if you have it to wear under floater suits provided. Rain gear is not a requirement.
- Don’t forget your camera and sunscreen!
- We depart at 11am June 21st.
- Public Retreat Departures can be arranged for groups from Campbell River- Discovery Harbour Marina | Quadra Island – Quathiaski Cove.
- If you have a private booking we can pick you up at Heriot Bay, Resorts on Quadra, or Cortes Island at Manson’s Landing or Gorge Harbour.
- Please come 20 minutes prior to departure.
- There are accessible washrooms at the beginning and end of all tours. During tours, we can stop for bathroom breaks, and both vessels have compost toilets on the boat.
We can host up to 10 guests per zodiac, with a total of 20 guests for the Whale Song Adventure.
