Blair Denman-Lead Wildlife Photographer
Blair Denman-Lead Wildlife Photographer
Blair Denman is a Vancouver Island–based wildlife photographer who has spent the past several years working closely with Wild Waterways Adventures, photographing marine and coastal wildlife throughout the Discovery Islands and the surrounding waters of British Columbia. Much of his work is captured from high-speed Zodiac vessels in dynamic ocean conditions, giving him extensive experience photographing fast-action Bald eagles in changing light & tides.
There is a significant learning curve to this unique style of Bald eagle photography in tidal rapids—one that Blair has spent years mastering in the field throughout the Discovery Islands and Vancouver Island region.
Blair is passionate about both photography and teaching, and he enjoys helping guests build confidence with their cameras while capturing authentic wildlife moments. His hands-on approach and deep familiarity with the local environment make him a natural guide for photographers looking to improve their skills on the water and photograph one of British Columbia’s most dramatic Bald Eagle wildlife events.
You will be shooting from a 32″ Zodiac Hurricane- a very safe, stable vessel offering high visibility and unobstructed views for every shot.
What you will learn on this workshop
You’ll learn how to work with the ever-changing light of coastal waters, dial in the right camera settings for fast-action Bald Eagle hunting scenes in tidal rapids, and position yourself for compelling angles that capture authentic wildlife behaviour. The workshop also explores composition, ethical wildlife photography practices, and the seasonal rhythms that draw eagles to these nutrient-rich waters. Post-processing tips are included to help you refine and elevate your images once the adventure is complete.
